Manfrotto 725B Digi Tripod for your D40

Manfrotto 725B Digi Tripod with Integrated Ball Head with Dove Tail Plate and Carrying Bag (Black)

I received this Tripod for Christmas from my girlfriend and i love it! It's definitely way better then my Promaster 6100 i have been using. The ball head is awesome and I'll never go back to the conventional type tripod again! I have used this with my D40, 70-300 vr and SB600 with no problem! Having just one knob to turn and re-compose is great. I would definitely recommend this Tripod for anyone that does not want to spend hundreds of dollars on a tripod and still get a ball head type tripod.

Air Show Photography with your D40!

Originally uploaded by Click Clack MA
Well I went to my first air show (fleet week) in San Francisco a couple of weekends ago and didn't have the best of luck getting great pictures. Out of 200 shots this was probably my best and it's not that great. My first and foremost problem was i didn't study! "How to Photograph an Air Show" I just figured I'd use shutter priority and set it at 1/1000 which actually worked fine for a few shots but not all. So the next day i got online and googled "How to Photograph an Air Show" and saw that indeed i did miss a few things that would have helped.

Here are a few links to help you out before you go and shot an air show.

New Nikon D90 Monster!

Nikon just anounced the new D90 and boy does it look sweeeet! I love my D40 but after a year of learning on this great camera it might be time to step up to this new D90.

From DPreview.com: After a steady trickle of leaks and rumors Nikon has announced the successor to its popular D80 middleweight digital SLR in the shape of the D90. The D90 looks very similar, but underneath it's a completely new camera that's inherited advanced features from further up the line and user-friendly features from the D40/D60 range. Oh, and it's the world's first digital SLR with a movie mode. Oher features of note include a new 12.3 MP CMOS sensor, the D3/D300/D700's fab high resolution 3.0-inch screen and continuous shooting at up to 4.5 frames per second.
